It's difficult to wake up every morning with reminders that she's gone. I go to sleep to escape the pain, and I wake up with roses at my bedside, and the bouquet I bought for her sit in a vase in the living room.
Ironic that the first and last time I bought her flowers were from the same store; that they came home with me, instead of staying with her this time around.
My birthday is Friday, and I think I'm going to end up lonely, like usual. When I was younger, she'd always throw me a party, even if it was just me and her: I had a birthday cake and my china tea set set for two.
I watched the casket lowered on Sunday and with that being done there was that finality and an echoing in my head of the words "No more."
